Nguyễn Ngọc Khuyến's Journey to Mastering Traditional Vietnamese Massage
Nguyễn Ngọc Khuyến, born in 1978 in Yên Bái mountainous province, is a student of the Vietnamese Non oil therapeutic massage course organized by Omamori Spa at the National Training and Rehab Center for the Vietnamese Blind (217 Trung Kinh, Hanoi). At 10 years old, he lost his eyesight due to a lime burn accident. His passion for traditional Vietnamese massage was nurtured from the age of 16 when his grandfather taught him to prepare a job for future.

With 30 years of experience, he currently owns three massage studios, providing employment opportunities for other blind youths. He shared that when he learned about the traing course by Omamorispa, he immediately signed up. However, just before the course began, his father got an accident.

Despite this, driven by his intense passion and desire to learn, he overcame all challenges to attend. Everyday he traveled 400 km back and forth between Hanoi and Yên Bái province: returning home after the training lession finishes at 4pm, and early next morning catching the bus to arrive in the class at 7.30am. He did not miss any training session during our 10-day course!

We hope that after this traing course, Khuyen will continue to inspire and ignite the passion for the massage profession in many more blind people, helping others in similar situations as his own.
