Meet Đinh Thị Đào, born in 1981, currently living and working in Hải Dương province. Despite facing significant challenges with her eyesight due to retinal damage from childhood, Đào has persevered and found a new path in life.
Initially, Đào’s vision was good enough for her to drive and walk independently. However, by 2020, her eyes condition worsened, making it impossible for her to move around by herself as before. At first, she worked as a worker on local construction sites, but her life took a positive turn when she was introduced to the Hai Duong Province Association for the Blind. Through the Association’s guidance, she began studying massage therapy and later was recommended to enroll in our training course.
At the studio in Hai Duong province where she is working, Đào works 5 to 6 hours a day, earning a wage of 60,000 VND per hour. On average, 2 to 3 out of every 10 customers tip her an additional 20,000 to 50,000 VND. She is grateful for her work and takes pride in her profession.
Đào shares that she has rarely encountered inappropriate requests from clients during her massage career. If such situations arise, she confidently declines. Her story is a testament to her resilience, integrity, and commitment to her craft.
